First Class vs Steerage

Hat tip to W.C. Varones, who brought to my attention quite the story via his post Ruling Class Laws. It seems Mr. Erzinger an asset manager with Morgan Stanely, hit a bicylclist, a Dr. Steven Milo and then fled the scene.

Here's the part I really like:

"Erzinger drove all the way through Avon, the town's roundabouts, under I-70 and stopped in the Pizza Hut parking lot where he called the Mercedes auto assistance service to report damage to his vehicle, and asked that his car be towed, records show. He did not ask for law enforcement assistance, according to court records."

Lovely. I can already tell what a class act this Erzinger is.

Lets even the playing field for a moment.
Lets drop the Dr. from Milo the victim.
Lets drop the Morgan Stanley from Erzinger the perp part.
Lets drop the Mercedes part as well.

What do we have now?
Man driving car hits cyclist from behind,
Man driving flees scene only to later stop and request assistance to his damaged inanimate object the car.

I realize most will want to vilify the perp, Erzinger and rightfully so but for me the story here is the prosecutors office and District Attorney Mark Hurlbert. Check out what the douche bag had to say:

“Felony convictions have some pretty serious job implications for someone in Mr. Erzinger's profession, and that entered into it,” Hurlbert said. “When you're talking about restitution, you don't want to take away his ability to pay.”

Sadly it is Erzinger who is afforded first class status and treatment rather than the injured Dr. Milo who via his treatment by the likes of Hurlbert obviously has a steerage ticket.

Given this travesty, has someone even requested a urine sample from this simpleton Hurlbert?

Better yet, how about a urine sample for the community in the Eagle area for not protesting outside Hurlbert's home and office demanding appropriate charges or Hurlbert's hide for his lack of spine in going after Erzinger to the fullest extent of the law.

I wonder what Judge Napolitano would have to say about this one?

I wonder what Hurlbert would be doing if the cyclist was kin of a John Boehner or a Nancy Pelosi.

You get 3 guesses and the first 2 don't count.

Note to Erzinger and others like him, thank your lucky stars you have a eunuch like Hurlbert as the DA there. I know quite a few who would not be as charitable, forgiving, or as compassionate as the impotent district attorney Hurlbert is.

Ahhhh forget it. Just pop another prozac and turn up the volume on Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb and simply keep on keepin' on people.

Good speculating to you all and please remember to never forget that "an investor is a speculator who made a mistake and will not admit it".
